Ozone is the tri-atomic form of oxygen which is comprised of three oxygen atoms. Ozone is formed by the bonding of these oxygen atoms under the influence of ultraviolet radiation or an electrical arc (corona discharge) or Guardian's Plasma Block. In nature ozone is formed in the atmosphere by ultraviolet rays of the sun and from the electrical discharge of lightning. Guardian Manufacturing uses the plasma block corona discharge reaction chamber to make ozone.

Ozone is a high-energy molecule. Its half life in water at room temperature is only 20 minutes, and it decomposes into simple oxygen.

Molecular Formula: O3
Molecular Weight: 48
Color: light blue colorless
Smell:- clothes after being outside on clothesline- photocopy machines- smell after lightning storms-odorless

Solubility in Water (@ O-deg C): 0.640
Density: 2.144
Electrochemical Potential, V: 2.07
Ozone was first acknowledged in 1840
by the German Chemist C.F. Schonbein (1799-1868)

He determined that the odor produced during sparking was caused by an unknown compound that he called ozone, from the Greek ozein (to smell).

In 1856 Thomas Andrews showed that the ozone was formed only by oxygen.
